Marking a transformative milestone in the emirate’s development journey, Umm Al Quwain has officially launched Downtown UAQ — a visionary 25 million square foot coastal city designed to become a vibrant new destination for sustainable living, tourism, and innovation in the UAE.

The project was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain and Chairman of the Executive Council, in collaboration with Sobha Realty, a developer known for delivering world-class communities and infrastructure.
Coastal City Living – Designed for the Future

Strategically positioned along the emirate’s coastline, Downtown UAQ offers 11 kilometers of waterfront, including 7 kilometers of natural beaches and lush green parks — establishing a unique balance between serene lifestyle and modern urban amenities.
The masterplan is organized into three districts:

-North Beach: A serene residential and leisure area
-South Beach: A destination for hospitality, dining, and tourism experiences
-A central district integrating residential, commercial, and community facilities

Green, Walkable, and Human-Centric
Over 50% of the project’s footprint is dedicated to open public spaces, pedestrian pathways, and eco-conscious design — aligning with the UAE’s sustainability vision and commitment to building smart, livable cities.

A Destination Built for Growth and Connection
Set to welcome up to 150,000 residents, Downtown UAQ is designed to be more than a real estate development — it represents a thriving, self-contained city that supports long-term economic growth, job creation, and a high quality of life for residents and visitors.

Around half of the development’s land will be dedicated to green areas, walkways, and parks, with infrastructure designed to support environmental sustainability.
The Government of Umm Al Quwain described the project as a step forward in positioning Umm Al Quwain as a competitive and attractive destination for investors, residents, and tourists alike.
